Who We Are

Hattori Motorsports was founded in 2022 by long time NASCAR owner Shigeaki Hattori. Hattori has fielded entries in a variety of different series, including the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, and the ARCA Menards Series. As a former driver, Hattori captured the Japan Formula Toyota championship in 1994 and moved to the United States the following year to race open-wheel cars. He competed in the Toyota Atlantic Series, Indy Lights and IndyCar. He won a pair of Indy Lights races in 1998 and made two starts in the Indianapolis 500. In 2005, Hattori made the transition to stock cars and drove a Toyota Tundra in the Craftsman Truck Series. Hattori’s organization reached its pinnacle achievement in 2018 when Brett Moffitt and the No. 16 team captured the Craftsman Truck Series championship in the team’s second full-time season.  HRE and driver Austin Hill recorded eight victories from 2019-21 and cemented the organization into a perennial championship contender.

In 2022 Hattori Motorsports fielded an entry for Seth Lucas in the GT4 America series powered by AWS. Lucas had a career year in the GT America powered by AWS with two wins, four podiums, and one fastest lap. The year 2023 brought a new chapter for Hattori Motorsports. HM would field an entry in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park. The No. 50 Hattori Motorsports Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO co-driven by Parker Thompson and Billy Johnson took the race victory in the Canadian Tire Motorsports Park 120. It marks the first Michelin Pilot Challenge triumph for Toyota and made Hattori Motorsports a winner in its series debut. It’s also the first series victory for Thompson and the 24th for Johnson, making him the winningest driver in Michelin Pilot Challenge history.
